Provided by YP.comRick was the instructor for my son at his driving test. He was calm, patient, and professional. It was very easy to schedule and it was a positive experience.

Provided by YP.comMy 20 year old son just FAILED. He works at Kroger, has a car. It was pouring at our 2:45 appt. The guy doesn't say anything, I just see he has a clipboard held up looking at us. I told my son to pull up. We roll the window down and Fatman yelled at him for pulling up about 2" past the clipboard when he gave no instructions to start. He YELLED at my son to back up. Then he asks for the paper work and 50 bucks, it was in a plastic bag, he said very rude, "get it out". Within 3-4 minutes my son calls, "I failed, come get me".He had my son back into a spot and said he could have backed an inch more, minus one point. Then parallel parking, another point off, "Ding, YOU FAILED." He didn't even get to go out on the road. He happily took the 50. My daughter tested with him 2 years ago, she just talked back to him, she doesn't take any crap.He could have given instructions, let him drive his 50 bucks worth. I know he owes me 50 for my boots. He seems to get his thrill with having authority!

Provided by YP.comContinued. If you are providing a service to someone you don't bully them, belittle them, or make their life as miserable as you have made mine. I don't care if you were in control and had all the power because you were the test taker. The government has very strict rules on what a test administrator can and cannot do when I took the ACT. I would think that in a life and death situation they would be even stricter. I will go to the company and the government and I'm getting Jim fired. He put me in danger with his bullying and he will continue to do so until someone actually stops him.

Provided by YP.comJim, the bald man with the beard, should literally be fired. I'm going to make sure that he is and I won't stop until he no longer has power over anyone. I didn't mind not passing. But I get extreme car anxiety and I was taking lessons all summer to fix that. Now I literally never want to drive again and even as a passenger I'm nervous. My family won't believe how rude this man was and how much danger he put us both in. They say he was just tough and wasn't sugar coating things. No, he was yelling at me the whole time and asking me sarcastic questions like "Did the light say go?", "Isn't traffic clear?" "We are in the left lane why didn't you go?" And he kept repeating questions like that until I answered. Um, maybe because you are making me cry and I'm putting us both in danger by you yelling at me? I work fast food and I could say a million sarcastic things when customers do something stupid. But I don't because no one is perfect and I would expected to be fired immediately.

Provided by YP.comMy son took his road test yesterday and it was a completely positive experience. Jim was his instructor. He was very professional, polite & easy to talk to. He went over what my son did right & wrong during the test. He was never discourteous. I would recommend this company and instructor.
I read the negative reviews and was a little apprehensive, but Jim proved those reviews wrong.

Provided by YP.comWOW!! I should have listened to the bad reviews. The man that tested my child(I am assuming it was Jim although he did not give us his name) was rude and condescending. Made my child more nervous than they already were. I don't understand people who feel the need to make others uncomfortable or to treat young adults with no respect - especially when they are paying you for a service. This man should not be testing young adults - he has no respect for them and treats them badly - maybe it is an ego thing I don't know - but if you are looking for a testing center the SOS offers several other options. I recommend checking another company out first!

Provided by YP.comI took my road test yesterday and passed! I had a man by the name of Larry who was amazing. He made me feel as ease and kept conversation flowing throughout the ride. I was nervous about the test, but he reassured me that everything was going to be fine. I was hesitant to come here at first due to all of the negative reviews, however I am glad I did. If you come here try to get Larry to be the one you take the test with. This man is the reason I passed!!

Provided by YP.comI took my test this past July & have been debating writing this negative review because I do not want to give the whole company a bad wrap due to one employee's actions, but think it is necessary to save other people from experiencing horrible anxiety while paying a decent sum of money to take an already stressful test. As a few other reviews have stated, my road test was administered by Jim. I believe that this man is dangerous & should not be given a dime for his rude & irresponsible behavior. He immediately gave off an unpleasant demeanor. The experience on the road was so anxiety-inducing that I nearly debated pulling over & saying that I couldn't finish the test. I understand that instructors must be firm & meticulous in making sure that people taking the test are fit to drive, but this is no way to treat people when they are operating a vehicle. I paid, showed up on time, & was prepared. I would therefore expect to be treated w/ respect like an adult & not condescended...

Provided by YP.comMy son just road tested with the "bearded guy" named Jim. I found him very tough and focused on making sure my son was ready to have his license. I can now allow him to drive by himself feeling more confident that he is aware of everything that he might experience on the road. I paid for an honest assessment of my son's driving skills and I believe that was the best $45 I have ever spent.
I would recommend Blanzy Driving School and Jim to anyone that wants their child to be ready for the road.

Provided by YP.comHorrible experience. I should have listened to the reviews on the bearded fellow. We tested in Southgate. My son has a language processing disability. He can drive fine and no reason he cannot take the driver's test. He completed segment 1 and 2 with no problems including the driving portion. However, he was badgered mercilessly by this man with the beard at Blanzy. These instructors know people are extremely nervous - yet he did nothing to set my son to ease and in fact snapped at him and raised his voice, as another reviewer also noted. He told him to take a wide right (there was a another street which would have been a sharp right). With my sons nervousness and also having never encountered anyone asking him to make a "wide" turn. He questioned "This one?" The instructor snapped "Don't you know the difference between wide and sharp". A simple yes would have sufficed. There was no reason to snap and yell at the student driver. Later, he asked my son about an accident scenario - posing the question while my son was driving. To me, what a distraction asking kids this WHiLE taking the road test. He posed the scenario and said "What do you do? Where do you go" MY son was so anxious he couldn't come up with an answer. He felt it better to say, " I don't know" and concentrate on his driving. The instructor Said" Your'e hit. Your'e hit." He continued to badger my son for an answer and then posed a different question. I wanted so much to say something and tell him to back the hell off, but I didnt want to ruin my son's chances so I bit my tongue. My son finally answered the question. The instructor continued to badger my son about speed limits etc. He didn't ask questions politely. He snapped them and when the answer was other than he was looking for he snapped at my son repeatedly. . Finally, after the test he continue to question my son about certain things. He said "failing is 23 points, but you have 12. Do you pass or fail?" By this time dear son was so confused and shook up, he thought he had failed. I finally said "Sir, he is very very nervous. He doesn't understand. " I told my son "you passed." I just wanted this guy to get the hell out of my car. My son and I left the testing site with his certificate feeling more nervous and shook up than before we came. Instead of celebrating passing the driving test as we should have been my son was shaking and beat himself up out how horrible he did. He did NOT do horrible. He did make some mistakes .However, those points were deducted and he still passed with quite a few points left before even getting near a failing grade. However, the instructors attitude, snapping at my son, and constant badgering him to answer questions while driving and even after testing went a long way in impacting my son's performance. No one should have to feel abused while taking a driving test. Go to another school. I almost used Stroia and now wish I had. My older son used Blanzy 5 years ago and we had Mr. Blanzy and he was very courteous. Julie who answered the phone at Blanzy was also courteous. This bearded fellow who they have hired is a nightmare. In my opinion, he has no business being an instructor. Many other reviewers have noted his rudeness, his snapping and yelling at kids while they are driving. Ours was not an isolated incident. It seems to be the way he tests almost everyone. . . I would not recommend testing with Blanzy after this experience. If you do and you see you have a bearded, bigger fellow with glasses turn around ASAP and reschedule elsewhere. Do not discount these reviews. I did and I am very sorry that I put myself and my son through this bad experience.

Provided by YP.comTook my test today. The instructor was very kind which made it easier on me so I didn't feel nervous. She was a great instructor, gave great directions. Recommend this place. Best one around!

Provided by YPmobileI took test on Sept 12'2015. I got a lady instructor who was very clear and perfect in.all her instructions. I was actually afraid on reading all the reviews here.I even got one cone in reverse parking with all tension. But she was not at all rude. I then did my parallel parking perfectly. Also driving was also very smooth and perfect without any confusions. It was all possible only bcz of her clear instructions like,"Take left in light" and "Change lane to left when it's safe to" etc without any rude things like "Take left" "Change lane now"... Don't panic and so you will perfectly handle it and get license. All the best :)

Provided by YP.comWhen I moved to Farmington Hills, I was in a hurry to get a license and I was desperately looking for a slot the same day. This was the only place where they had two slots left that day and I decided to go there despite looking at the bad reviews since I had no choice.
My instructor was an older man and he was really nice. All you have to do is follow instructions. During the test, I had to exit the freeway but I was in the left most lane, when he asked me to take the exit and I couldn't, he was more than nice in saying that I did a good thing by trusting my instinct. He also kept giving good suggestions on how to drive better. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.

Provided by YPmobileI should have taken consideration to other reviews. The instructor was rude to my son the entire road test; My nerves are shot from keeping my mouth shut. I am ashamed I didn't kick the instructor out out my car to defend my son who did a great job. Please take these commits seriously, I doubted them at first and figured I would try anyway. I was wrong. My son passed the test but both he and I are extremely upset with how the test was conducted.

Provided by YPmobileThe driving instructor that tested me was very but very rude.He was a bigger man with glasses and a beard. He had no respect for one's feelings and nervousness. He even yelled at me when I was driving because I didn't change lanes but I felt it wasn't safe enough to change lanes. He even questioned me for 5 min. after about what the lights meant and I mean it's not a question test it's a road test I mean seriously.I did pass by the way but I do not recommend comming to this place if this person is there. I advise that you turn around and find another person.
