I paid for a ONE MONTH members...

I paid for a ONE MONTH membership and to pay $15.00 a month if I wanted to continue. I worked out ONCE and never went back. They sent me bills for membership and 'fees' despite that I did not sign a contract. They had some useless manager try to talk in circles about giving them $55.00 and they would stop billing other wise they would send it to collections. I did NOT sign a contract. I did NOT agree to anything other than one month use of their facilities. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE SHYSTERS and will rip you off!!!

Beware!

Powerhouse Gym in Dearborn is a good gym, fairly new equipment, clean, well managed. The equipment is crowded together and it may feel a bit claustrophobic. Repairs sometimes drag. It is one of 3 gyms owned by Al Ferris. But upwards to 1000 of his members are frustrated and angry after they were told in 2008 if they plunked down $108 and paid $9 dollars a month, that price would never go up. A year later it went up to $12 a month. Turns out we all signed a contract that said, despite the sales pitch, that the owner could raise fees any time he wants. Do not trust Al Ferris. Do not buy lifetime or extended contracts.
