The DeKalb History Center collects, preserves, and shares the wide-ranging stories of the people and places of DeKalb County, Georgia. Our Archives and Museum are located inside the historic courthouse in downtown Decatur, just a few miles from metro Atlanta. Open to the public, you can research many local history topics including genealogy and family history, cemeteries, and historic homes. We offer many public programs throughout the year.
