I've been taking lessons at Guitar Decatur and I love it! Not only do they teach guitar & bass guitar, but they also offer voice, violin, piano, & clarinet lessons as well. All of the teachers are extremely friendly and great at what they do. I've learned so much and gotten so much better since starting here. They work w/ all levels, w/ a teaching style that keeps things comfortable & fun. Very affordable and flexible with your schedule. If you've ever so much as thought about taking lessons, do it here. You won't regret it!

I've been taking lessons with Eddie Minjarez for almost a year now. Great guitar player, great teacher, great guy! As an adult guitar learner, I'd played some over the years, developed lots of bad habits, and reached a plateau as to what I could learn on my own, online, etc.



Working with Eddie, I'm playing songs (and styles of guitar playing) that I never thought I'd be able to. And I'm understanding so much more about music, rhythm, and guitar playing generally. He challenges his students, but with a teaching style that keeps things comfortable and fun.



Guitar Decatur is also great for quick guitar needs like strings, picks, tuners, and the like.

I really love this place. The vibe is mellow, my teacher, Eddie, is phenomenal, and you should definitely check it out. I walked in having played guitar for years, but never having studied it, with hopes of learning how to read music and how to play more challenging things than what I had learned from friends, books, DVD's, and just playing around. It has been everything I had hoped for and more. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy learning how to play better, from beginner to expert.

Love the way they work with your schedule for the lessons. Derek is great with my 17 year old. This place rocks and all of the instructors do too.

I have been taking lessons at Guitar Decatur for just over a year. Upon my first lesson my instructor Eddie (also the owner) asked me "what is your reason for taking up Guitar and what do you want to make sure you are getting out of each session?" I loved the approach because it wasn’t about what THEY wanted to teach me it was about what I wanted to get out of it. I began my lessons not even know how to hold a guitar and just shy of a year later can not only play pretty much anything I set out to learn (with practice of course!) but also have written and recorded 5 original songs.

After several months of mastering the basics my instructor asked if I was interested in writing music at all. It was then I had a new found passion, we spend practices now not only working on playing but also writing and composing music to my lyrics. With the constant push and encouragement that I have received from Guitar Decatur I have opened doors for myself that I never would have thought possible only a year ago. I would and actually have recommended this place to many!
