Provided by YP.comThis company deserves a zero. This company was placed under sanction on April 23, 2013, for several contract violations with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan in 2013, their first year. This is one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with, and if the Medicare made it easier to switch plans while keep it a proper out-of-pocket accounting, I would have moved my mother out this plan months ago. All their materials are just lies, lies, lies regarding drug tiers, allowed quantities and copayments. Oh, and co-payments can change at their whim, and when you ask for a citation, all they say is it is a CMS approved co-payment without further explanation. CMS has been no help in getting reimbursed for the overcharges or getting them to fix issues, let alone in getting reimbursed. Matter of fact, I belatedly heard CMS knew there were problems with this plan during Open Enrollment, which should be of great concern to anyone having to purchase a health plan on the federal exchange (Obamacare) in 2014. Medicare Part D started on January 1, 2006, and not much has improved for the people who must participate. I certainly do not feel the government had my back in my interaction with Smart Insurance.
