Provided by YP.comRefused to accept my prescription for glasses that I got from VA optometrist last week. The Walmart optometrist said it was Walmart company policy. It is hard to understand why Walmart would create an obstacle for a veteran who needs eyeglasses as a matter of company policy. The staff at the nearby Destin vision center said they would fill the VA prescriptions and never had a problem with it, and the VA doctor told me in an email that in 32 years he had never had a Walmart refuse to fill a VA prescription. The Walmart eye doctor who declined to give me service ultimately said in a phone call he would fill the VA prescription of the doctor added his name, address and phone number to the usual government form. One would assume that is not really necessary since it was signed by the doctor and there is no entity in the world that is more careful about verifying your identity than the VA. The Walmart doctor also would not give me a PD measurement even though I have had eye exams at this store before. The PD number is needed to order glasses online at Walmart.com. In this case, I was forced to order from a competing company online although I am devoted to giving Walmart as much support and business as I can.
