Toledo Molding & Die acquired the Delphos 1 facility in 1986. The plant manufactures injection-molded components for assembly into automotive air handling and fuel systems. Lean manufacturing tools employed at Delphos 1 include work cell management and molding-to-assembly close coupling. The process development at this facility includes MUD based tooling and ultrasonic welding. The plant uses a team-based approach to cost management and a willingness to implement new technology within the injection molding industry. The plant has earned the Ford Motor Company s Q1 Preferred Quality Award, Mazda Most Valued Supplier Award and is certified to ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001.
