The Delray Beach Environmental Services Department comprises public utilities, engineering, construction and public works divisions of the city of Delray Beach, Fla. The public utilities division is responsible for maintaining all quality system procedures used within the laboratory as prescribed by the National Environmental Laboratory Association Conference's most recent standards. The engineering division operates the storm water utility that operates and maintains the city's storm water drainage systems and to insure compliance with city commission policies and the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit requirements. The construction division provides in-house capabilities for small underground utilities construction projects. The public works division oversees the areas of building maintenance, city garage, parking facilities, storm water maintenance, street lighting, street maintenance and traffic operations.
