Now living in my Golden Years, I have had many opportunities to experience contractors of all sorts working on and in my home. Without hesitation, I would consider David Stanley Residential & Commercial Painters among the (if not THE) best I have ever dealt with. I needed exterior painting and minor repairs and this is one of the many companies I researched. I was reluctant to use them at first since their ratings were not as favorable as many others. Nevertheless, when I saw the work they had done in the neighborhood (including work done for my next-door neighbor), I was impressed. Before, during, and after the project, this company’s performance ticked off every single box for things I look for in a contractor: excellent communication, reasonable cost, high-quality materials, meticulous workmanship, attention to detail, excellent cleanup, and professional & friendly employees. The most impressive quality to me, however, as compared to similar contractors I’ve used over the years, was their work ethic. It was the first contractor I can ever recall who put in a full day’s work every day of the week. Others I’ve used would start mid-morning and finish for the day in mid-afternoon and frequently did not work Fridays. David Stanley and his crew literally worked from daylight to dark every day until the project was done. I like that. At the project’s end, I told Mr. Stanley how pleased I was but also how reluctant I had been based on his lukewarm reviews. He told me he had many very well-satisfied customers, but few took the time to write reviews. I agree and it is unfortunate that many people have no problem making the effort to complain, but choose too often not to report their good and successful experiences. This review is intended to give credit where credit is due.

It's true! As the previous reviewer said, STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN! David Stanley was contracted to paint our house. He left garbage in our yard, burned a hole in our grass, took over a month to replace screens and finish the job, and just yesterday we found a rotting piece of wood and some missing boards he was supposed to have fixed. He is definitely of poor integrity!

I had David Stanley perform wood restoration and painting of my house in Friendswood, Texas. He missed rotted wood and painted right over it. Before he was contracted for the job I asked him if he missed anything would he come back and fix it. He said he would. Well as luck would have it I found a section of rotten wood that he just painted over and did not replace it. When I called him back he stated that he would come back and fix this. After three weeks he still did not come back. When I asked him, "are you not a man of your word" he stated that he lost money on my job. What kind of lame excuse is this!!! Anyway I had to hire another painter to fix the rotten wood. This new painter saw a lot of area he said that should of been caulked but was not and he stated my previous painter was not any good. So bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON. He is of poor integrity, dishonest and NOT a man of his word. I guess a handshake is not any good today, at least with this company.
