Morrison Milling Co
319 E Prairie St, Denton, TX 76201
The Morrison Milling Company began in 1886 as the Alliance Milling Company, a cooperative flour mill formed by local farmers to mill their wheat into flour for north Texas bakers. By 1900, there were several hundred flour mills in Texas. However, in the last 50 years, there has been a major consolidation in the business, and Morrison is one of only two remaining independent flour mills in Texas. Over the years, the company has added the capacity to mill corn into cornmeal and cornmeal products. Today, the company is separated into four businesses: flour, cornmeal, dry mixes and frozen foods. The flour business produces various flours for bread, biscuits, tortillas and proprietary mix products; and the cornmeal operation sells cornmeal and cornmeal products, such as cornbread and corn muffin mix. The company entered the frozen foods business with the acquisition of Super Stuff in Waco, Texas. Headquartered in Denton, Texas, Morrison Milling sells its products through retail outlets, restaurant chains and schools.
