Adult Protective Services receives and investigates reports of mistreatment and self-neglect of adults who are unable to protect themselves from abuse, neglect and exploitation. The program is managed by the Aging and Adult Services division of the Social Services Department. The department is governed by Adams County in Colorado. The Adams County government operates the assessor s office, building section, county courts, citizen boards and commissions, and animal shelter and workforce and business centers. It also operates human resources, planning and development, finance and information technology, public works, real estate recording, and parks and open space departments. The government offers a Head Start program for children.
