Established in 1971, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division is a part of the state of Colorado. The division develops and advocates for services to reduce substance use disorders. The division offers medical, mental health and HIV prevention services. Its field managers are responsible for monitoring programs and responding to complaints about services. The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division additionally licenses and monitors more than 400 treatment provider agencies.
