Provided by YP.comI would not waste your time or money here. I'm going to court for child support and parenting time. She said I would not need a lawyer at my first court hearing. Which was wrong. All she did was type up my response. No good advise about my situation. Its like they really do not care about your case or situation they only care about the money. I had to do my own research, pull my daughters dad's criminal record by myself and also go down and file the paper work my self so i paid 1300 for her to type a response i had already written down. I could of did that myself. After court I tried to give them the benefit of doubt and I came to them with the next step for my case which was temporary orders. And the receptionist said I only paid Carrie for the first half I needed to pay more money for her to do the temporary orders. They basically made me feel like they had no idea why I was contacting them. The split up paying plan is a joke. This company is totally unorganized also. I regret that I wasted my money here when this is suppose to be an affordable place for legal assistance. I would of been happy to spend more money if they actually did a good job. I'm happy to say I have a good lawyer now.

Provided by YP.comBeware!!! Do not waist your time and especially your money on the Neighborhood Law Office. My experience with them was awful, aggravating and extremely painful. I paid them $1800 to begin my child custody case and had an upcoming mediation teleconference call coming up in a couple of weeks that Jim Underhill was adamant about attending to represent me. Well he did not attend the conference call. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Jim (as they do not return phone calls) to find out why he missed the conference call and what was going on with my case, I was left with no choice but to show up to their office to get some kind of response. Come to find out nothing was going on with my case as they had misplaced my file and had no idea that I existed though their bank account was $1800 richer. Jim apologized and we began to move forward. My first court hearing was April 7th, 2015 in which I represented myself because it was a hearing only regarding child support and not child custody. After the hearing I tried for a week to update them on the what happened leaving messages and emails with no success until I had no alternative but to show up to their office unannounced.....AGAIN! Do you see the pattern within all of these reviews? The previous reviews are absolutely correct. They tell you that phone calls and their advice is always free and now I understand why. They are never available when you call, never return phone calls and do not give you any advice that you do not already know. This quote was taken from their website "We care about you and your family and do not prolong your case in order to maximize our billings." This statement is completely false. They do not care about you and your case, they only care about their wallets. At this point I will do a better job of representing myself then the Neighborhood Law Office will do. I will never ever do business with them again and recommend that you do not either. They do not deserve to be in business.

My husband and I were in desperate need of an attorney and when we met with Mr. Underhill, he initially made a lot of promises regarding our case just to get us to put money down and when we did, the stories all changed on what could and couldn't be done. There was NO communication and his office his rude and dis-interested in helping people once they are actual clients. After signing up, you are handed off to an attorney you have never met and who is unfamiliar with your case. We never got calls or e-mails back when trying to communicate with them just to be told our case had been put on hold. They advertise payment plans and we came on board through a payment plan that Mr. Underhill set up himself after calculating our budget - then at our 2nd meeting he demands to be paid in full or he is withdrawing/shelving the case. We have put down all the money that we agreed to, made our payments on time as agreed to and Mr. Underhill snapped, "I am NOT a bank." Then why does he have interest rate/APR written into his contract? Why did he start work on our case?I highly advise anyone seeking legal counsel to go elsewhere - The Neighborhood Law Firm took all of our money and payments and refuse work on our case. They entered into a payment agreement and started services and then stopped work without telling us that work had been stopped. This whole time we had thought Underhill was filing on our behalf and working towards a solution - NOTHING was being done and it took 2 weeks for us to get answers and when we asked to speak to Mr. Underhill himself, he was not available because he was on vacation. This place is full of sharks that feed on desperate people in troubled waters. They lied about everything, mis-represented themselves and their financial plan and have now taken our money and done nothing in return. They have been asked to provide a receipt of services and were unable to do so, my guess is a bill will be "Created" real fast.Stay Away - stay far away. And the $899 bankruptcy? Try like $1400 instead. It's all a scam and we wish we could have read this review or one like it before putting down EVERY penny we had (for nothing). We have voice recordings of trying to call the office and how we were treated and talked to by the staff - so I'm figuring out how to upload that so the public can hear how this place treats its clients once they have their money.

The previous review is by a client who failed to cooperate in providing materials for the case, then didn't like the advice. It's is dissappointing to have an upset client, but you just can't make some people happy.

It took them 7 1/2 months to lose my bankruptcy case and 3 1/2 more months to confess that to me and THEN asked for another fee to re-file the petition. As near as I can tell they missed every single deadline.

The US Bankruptcy Court charges $299 for filing a bankruptcy petition. Neighborhood Law Office will prepare all your papers and charges $999 WHICH INCLUDES the US BK CT filing Fee! You also get one hour with a real attorney to explain bankruptcy and to review all your materials with you and he or she will also answer all your questions. This is a great deal!
