Provided by YP.comLet's start with 3 facts:
1. Behind the counter, a sign reads "Tanks be medicated".
2. In my experience to Todd's, roughly 1/3 of tanks will have dead livestocks.
3. After using Todd's RO for approximately 30 days of water top-offs and changes, 2 of my fish (including a stunning Coral Beauty) died this morning following a change out.
3a. All fish have inhabited this tank for 6+ months, eat, swim, and interact without signs or symptoms of disease, fungal infection, or other tank born illness.
3b. The pH of this tank was 8.1 (slightly low, but not threatening) This was tested immediately after finding the livestock dead.
3c. The ammonia, nitrate, and nitrate levels all tested at approximately 0ppm.
3d. All micro nutrient, calcium, and alkalinity levels tested within normal., healthy ranges as well.
3e. Salinity maintained at a stable level of 1.024
This leads me to my hypothesis: Todd's is using inferior water filtration methods, chemically synthesizing R/O, or if they are using a proper system-- have not maintained the filtration system properly, leading to contamination.
One fish's sudden death I can understand. Two? Two immediately following a water change out from Todd's? That I cannot abide.
In case you haven't gathered so far, I love my tank. My water is tested weekly. Change-outs are regularly preformed. It's an 18 month old fixture brimming with corals, fish, and hey--- it's so healthy that the sugar starfish who came in on a piece of liverock have flourished.
I pride myself in care of beautiful sea creatures because hey--- they may not be around that much longer. That being said, I will not be returning to Todd's Tropical Fish to purchase contaminated water or sick livestock: their apparent specialities.
Recommendation: DO NOT BUY LIVESTOCK, SALTWATER, or R/O FROM TODD'S. TROPICAL FISH.

Best selection of fish in town. They are usually just very busy so the service can be sparse but it is worth waiting and you can browse the nice selection if there is a wait.

Thanks for the ich, Todd - and such quick denial when I provide a courtesy call to inform you. I should have trusted my instincts when 1) I noticed how many fresh tanks had dead stock floating around and 2) had to beg someone to help me. Crappy LFS and off my list.P.S. The anti-shoplifter sign posted on your now closed public restroom explains alot about your business approach. Good luck.

Todd's is the store that got me into Tropical Fish. I bought three small Angel fish and it got complicated from there... They seem to have pretty good stock, though I've never seen any invertebrates in there store and plants are generally slim pickings. But they are called Todd's Tropical Fish and fish they do have in plenty.

I have been shopping at Todd's for years for fresh and saltwater fish and equipment. The very knowlegeable staff and consistantly high quality livestock keep me coming back. They occassionally have used equipment for sale as well - for those of us always looking for a deal!
