Provided by YP.comOn 10/13/12 at approx. 1600 hours I went into toolzone to purchase a crank shaft holder tool for a 98 Acura Integra. Immediately, when I walked into the store, I was met by an older male (40+) with glasses who asked what I was looking for. I explained the tool I needed and he seemed to be annoyed that he had to help me in the location of the tool.
Once he showed me to the tool I saw the package said, “91 and later.” I asked if this tool would fit a 98 Acura Integra. The employee responded, “I can’t guarantee it will fit every car in the world.” I respectfully told him that I was simply wondering if it would fit my specific car. Also, I asked if the tool would not fit, could I return it for my money back. The employee told me it was a non-returnable item and that I could not bring it back. I responded, “So if it does not fit I am going to eat $40.” The employee responded, “Yes.”
I replied that I thought that was not very good customer service, which enraged the employee. He stated that it was the policy they held for years and if I did not like it I could not purchase the item. I then asked if I could return the item for something that did fit. The employee said that was the only tool if it’s kind. I asked if there was a tool that would work but may not be titled as such. The employee responded, “Well there is probably a tool out there in the world that would work but I don’t think it is in the store so no you can’t return it.”
At this point I finally asked to speak with a manger about how I, as a customer, was being treated. The employee responded, “I am the manager.” I replied, “You’re the manager?” The employee replied, “I’m the owner!”
I specifically needed the tool to complete the job at hand therefore I decided to purchase the item, even after the way I was treated. The employee began to enter the item into the register. While doing so, I saw there were business cards on the counter; however, no name was listed. I picked up the business card and a pen and asked, “What’s your name sir.” The employee responded, “I don’t have a name. You can call me boss.”
I began to tell the employee how I have never been treated in such a manner in any business establishment in my whole life. I used phrases such as “this is ridicules” and “I can’t believe this” but the employee continued with his rude attitude. Finally the employee threw back my credit card and snatched up the item stating, “That’s it! You’re out of here! Get out of here!”
The employee kicked me out of Toolzone. That is the first time I have ever been kicked out of an establishment and the first time I have ever been treated with such disrespect by an employee. The employee was not even courteous enough to tell me his name, which shows his guilt. If this certain employee was in the right he would have gladly told me his name for follow up.
This is a terrible business ran by terrible employees. I did not speak with every employee but this certain unnamed employee showed the integrity and classiness of the business, which was horrible. I will never set foot inside a Toolzone again and will tell everyone I know who needs a tool to look else ware, for Toolzone is a extremely bad company!

Provided by YP.comThe review of gmctruck was just about on the money. The only thing is the guy at the store was telling the truth, he is the owner. The owner of this store is extremely disagreeable, that's just the way he is. I've been going to Tool Zone off and on for more than ten years, they have lots of tools and most are of good quality. The owner is a sourpuss, you ask a question and he starts an argument. Today was no different, I should have gone to McGuckins in Boulder.
I'm a contractor, I've probably spent maybe three or four thousand at Tool Zone.

Provided by YP.comA great business to go to. The overall Atmosphere of this store gives me a good feeling, and they always have what I need. The owner is hard working, dedicated, and sets prices lower than his competitors which has saved me tons. I couldn't recommend this store enough

Provided by YP.comI have been going to Tool Zone since they opened and find any negative feedback surprising.
I have found the staff to be fun, honest and knowledgeable. If they haven't had what I needed, they were able to get it in a few days. Warranties were handled with no complaints.
I know it's hart to please everyone and when you are in business dealing with the public (as I once was) you never know who you are dealing with. Could they be a shoplifter?Someone who buys the tool, uses it to get the job done and then returns it saying it wouldn't work? Another possibility is the person who has no clue as to the tool he needs or even how to do the job. While shopping at Tool Zone, I have overheard the staff patiently explain to a customer how to do a particular job.
I have done business with the other major tool stores here in Denver, but Tool Zone has them beat, hands down. Their staff knows tools!
Instead of reading a couple of bad feedbacks, go to the store and give them a chance. I think you will be surprised and satisfied.
By the way, the picture at the top of the last post is of the BACK of the store and looks to have been taken before Tool Zone moved in. They are just North of American Furniture at 84th and I-25.

Provided by YP.comI have shopped at Tool Zone for over 7 years. I have done extensive remodeling on my house in that same time. Tool Zone has helped me with so many important decisions for finding the right tool for my work. Their salespeople are extremely patient and they know more about their tools than anyone in the business. My remodeling work has gone great, and my tools and equipment from Tool Zone have
always worked great. I have read some of these negative reviews from other customers, and they seem like they just have an axe to grind. Many of my closest friends also shop at Tool Zone and they have NEVER had any problems over many years of doing business with them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Provided by YP.comThis place is a joke. The main issue is the employees are lazy and will pretend you're not even there and avoid being asked questions. I went there to exchange my oxygen and acetalyne tanks and come to find out they were only half filled. I went back to get a new one but this time one them was completely empty! I am done with their poor customer service. Avoid wasting your time with them!
