Wedding Reception Blunder

My wife and I hired No Time to Cook for our wedding reception and we were promised many things including professional service, great food, and a day we would never forget. Despite the fact that we both agree that the food was good it was the service that was horrible. The caterer and her staff showed up in shorts and t-shirts for our wedding and she left without finishing the the dishes that she had us pay for in our contract. Later, when we tried to call her that night, about an hour after she left, the phone rang for three rings and then we were sent straight to voicemail. The rest of our calls that night went straight to voicemail from that point on. Once we finally got in touch with her later that week and we told her about the problems she did not apologize once or show any remorse for having made a mistake.

Later on I found out that this is common for other individuals in Denver, NC that have dealt with this caterer. I was told she makes lots of promises but she rarely delivers on them. Although that is what I was told I would have to say that the service, being a former caterer myself, is one of the poorest in the country.

P.s.-Feel free to check the Better Business Bureau's website where I posted my complaint as well. (http://www.charlotte.bbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=127106)The best thing that one can do is to let other potential clients know how bad this company is in fulfilling their services where the customer should be always right.

To set the record straight........Yes, we showed up in shorts to setup because it was 100 degrees outside. Once that was done,BEFORE the reception started, our staff changed into black dress pants, white shirts and black aprons to man the buffet, etc. We finished all the dishes from dinner and all the dessert dishes that were not still being used before we left as agreed. We did not wash the bar items up because the party was still going on, and people were using them-it would have been inappropiate to take them out of peoples hands. Dinner started at 4:30, and the agreement was to stay until 7:00 to do the dinner cleanup-we were onsite till 8:00 or so. Our departure time was agreed to in our previous planning meetings, otherwise we would NEVER have expected to leave at 7:00 when the party was not due to end till 10:00.Obviously,the customer knew they had a D.J. coming in, and that the party would continue till 10:00-they planned this. They told us an outside cleaning woman was coming in to finish the cleaning up that night. Had we not been told that, we would have asked who was going to cleanup the wine glasses, etc,and we would have been glad to do so had we known this was the expectation. We left the kitchen with all the dishes washed that were not still being used.Yes, I turned the phone off once we left because we had done everything that was agreed to. When I later talked to this customer, I apologized for the apparent breakdown in communication because I then realized that the other cleaning woman must not have showed up, and that caused this customer to be upset being left with some dirty barware. I do understand the frustration because a wedding reception is a high stress setting under the best of circumstances. However, we are not responsible for the other person not performing their duties-they were NOT one of our staff members, and we had no way of knowing this was going to happen. It is funny how each time I have contact with this customer their story changes. We have been doing weddings for over 7 years now, and we are always praised for our service as well as our delicious food. I have never before had a customer to forget so many pertinent items that were agreed to weeks beforehand. We value all of our customers which is why we have been tremendously successful and we are committed to making each event a great one, no matter how big or small.
