Don't do it!

I had a very dear loved one here who was bed bound do to paralysis (from a stroke) for two years and have very few nice things to say. Very promising place at first glance (rehab, doctors, etc.) but after about two weeks they begin treating you like everybody else. There were times when they did not flush his peg tube for days leading to hospitalization for dehydration, times they wouldn't turn him for hours, times he would sit in his own stool for HOURS, even times the "professionals" lied about bathing him and giving him his medications. Some of his room mates told me they denied them of their medicine if they caught an attitude with them and wouldn't call an ambulance for one man when he was having chest pains. Very rude, unprofessional and unstable staff and dirty, stinky facility. We had one CNA and one LPN that treated him decent in two years, both attended funeral. I understand that all nursing homes have their faults and that illness, especially paralysis, is highly undesirable and difficult to deal with but when it becomes a fact of life, your loved ones deserve to be treated respectfully, I know my loved one deserved better and a lot could have been done with help from nurses and therapists to improve his situation but this place was an absolute nightmare. If your circumstances allow you any other options, go for it!
