Provided by YP.comDo not use this company. The are in business to sell. Had an inspection done and they Failed it because they said it had a moist area on the steering. The cost to repair this through them was $1478.00. I called three other repair shops to get a quote for the same service which was listed on Sullivan Tires repair quote. The other repair shops quote $650 to $700 for the same work.
I brought my vehicle in to one of these repair shops, they looked over the moist issue, ran some tests and said that there is no problem at all. That they should not have failed the inspection. I questioned Sullivan Tire about this and they said that it was their mechanics opinion that it was leaking and not safe, that they will only except advice from the State of New Hampshire Safety Department. I showed the manager at Sullivan tire the inspection laws, which he had a copy of the same regulations. No where did the regulations state that this moist area was a just reason to fail the inspection.
I called the New Hampshire Department of Safety and asked them about this regulation. They said "There is nothing in the regulation quoting leaking" The steering has to have no defects period. The person I spoke to said that they will never advise an inspection station on how to inspect or how a technician should judge a issue. I also stated that if you loose all of you steering fluid in an instant you can still steer the car, though it is hard. The manager said "not ever one is as strong as you and I so it is a safety issue".
The steering system has no leaks, has never had to have fluid added to the system, drips no fluids, no fluid on my garage floor, no fluids anywhere I park. It does not leak which was confirmed by 3 other inspection stations. I asked the Manager at Sullivan Tire to show me the regulation stating that this causes a failure on the inspection, he said quote"I can't there is nothing written about that, but they told us this in class". So they are going by an instructors opinion to inspect vehicles, not the laws and regulations.
But thats right they are in business to sell repairs and services. Whether they are needed or not, its the technicians job to look for possible business. The have a knack for trying to sell you something you do not need, this was not the first time. The where trying to convince a lady in the store while I was there that she needed new tires because they were making noise, even though there was nothing wrong with them and they had plenty of treat. She said that she had bought them last year and they only had 10,000 miles on them. The sales person told her the noise was from not rotating them, so she needed new tires.
