I took my wedding dress to Susie to have her make Christening gowns for my twin granddaughters so we could start a family tradition. Susie did an excellent job! I would recommend her for any project!

I had a dream of wearing my grandmother's dress for my wedding, and Susie made it possible. We needed to completely change the top of the vintage dress, as it was quite brittle, and Susie was up for the challenge! Through a series of enjoyable visits, she created a beautiful piece of art by adding detailed lace and beading to the dress. I could not be more excited to wear it! If you are looking for someone with an artist's mind and a sweet and kind personality, Susie is just the one for you!

I heard of turning your old wedding gown into Baptismal gowns for your grandchildren. So I contacted Susie and she turned my old wedding gown into a beautiful Baptismal gown. It is more beautiful then I could ever imagine. Very Happy!!

I came with an idea, and Susie used her creativity and skill to create baptismal gowns for my new twin granddaughters from my old wedding dress. The finished product is amazing! I will definitely be going back with a stack of alterations.

It all started with a piece of foam and some pink camo.

I love vintage clothing, especially dresses, but they don't always fit me quite right. Luckily, Susie came to the rescue, transforming two of my ill-fitting vintage dresses into flattering pieces that look custom made for me! Whether it's taking them in or out to achieve the best fit, Susie is an expert. I also love how she came up with a clever solution to eliminate an unsightly gap along the top of one of the dresses. Susie has the vision and initiative to make a dress the best it can be. I don't feel like I have to ask her what needs to be done--she just knows, and that's a good trait that you want in a tailor. So don't be reluctant to give vintage clothing a try! With Susie's help, it can become a staple in your wardrobe! I'll be taking more of my vintage pieces to Susie to work her magic on and I look forward to working with her again.

I haven't had pants fit me in a very long time. I called Susie to see if she could hem jeans that I had purchased and I wanted the original hem. She didn't hesitate in letting me know that she could do that with no problem. A very professional and polite business person and it was a pleasure doing business with her. I suggest that if you have any alteration needs give her a call and gentlemen don't put up with terrible fitting clothes anymore.

Susie is absolutely WONDERFUL to work with! I gave Susie several dresses, pants and my bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding. I literally dropped this bomb on her with nearly two weeks’ notice and she was able to accommodate everything. She fixed a dress strap that I needed for a wedding that upcoming weekend within a few days! The following week I picked up my bridesmaid dress that she took the sides in and hemmed. It fit beautifully and was literally $50 cheaper than what Shaffers would have charged!!! Susie was even so kind to provide an emergency fix for the maid of honor’s clasp free of charge! I recently picked up the remaining items I gave her including two expensive chiffon dresses that had snags or rips on the seams/straps. Susie was able to bring these back to life and I’m thrilled that I didn’t have to replace them! Additionally, it was so convenient to meet her. I always dread using various dry cleaners or tailors because of their limited hours. Since Susie works out of her home, she is able to adapt around your schedule.I cannot speak more highly of the service I have received from her. I’m beyond satisfied with the work she has provided and I look forward to catching up with her every time we meet. Susie treats all of her customers like family. It’s like having an aunt that actually knows what they’re doing fix up your clothes (sorry relatives).  I will not use anyone else for my alterations. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I called Susie Klindt to alter a Mother of the Bride dress I purchased from Macy's in Times Square, New York. She worked with me even before the dress arrived to set up a date for alterations based on the projected arrival date of the dress. Susie was very professional and when I came for my first fitting we found out the dress was too small. She was confident and capable and discussed with me the aspects of what she could do to make the dress fit. I appreciated her making me a part of the decision making every step of the way. She was available and finished the project ahead of schedule. I will contact Susie for any future alterations and would suggest that if you have any kind of alteration you need from small to big you contact Susie as well.

I had received my bridesmaid dress that we ordered off an etsy site and was 1-2 sizes too small. I contacted Susie after talking with another individual who wouldn't even look at my bridesmaid dress to see if it could get let out. Thankfully, when Susie cut it open, we discovered there was more than enough material. She also shortened both dresses and I couldn't be happier with them! Susie is very knowleable of fabric, fit, and completely puts one at ease. I recommended my Mom take her wedding dress there and she is thrilled with the adjustments Susie made to her straps, addition of cups and shortening the train. I already have other items in my closet I plan on taking to her for alterations in the future!

Susie is very knowledgeable and a joy to work with. She kindly explained fit options to me regarding my wedding dress and went above and beyond to ensure all the details were perfect. She was able to take care of everything in a short period of time. I highly recommend her!

I have known and used Susie for alterations since I was in high school (I am now 45 years old)! She even altered my daughter's prom dresses throughout her high school years. She can do it all . . .from the basic to the unique. She recently went beyond my expectations with her creativity. I had a friend's sweatshirt who had recently passed away and wanted to make it into a pillow for her husband. She instantly became very enthusiastic about the design. She knew the right questions to ask about my friend and together we came up with a magnificent pillow. It was the perfect gift for a grieving husband. Thank you, Susie!

Susie is the best at alterations in the Des Moines area, maybe in all of Iowa. She is amazing and will take on any challenge I think! She reconstructed a bridesmaid dress for me when I was 9 months pregnant. This was a dress that was still 3 sizes to big even after being pregnant. She did wonderful! I have used Susie for several weddings now and everytime she impresses me. This summer was the ultimate challenge and she did AMAZING work! I was in a wedding for my sister and I was 9 months pregnant. The dress the ordered for me was still about 3 to 4 sizes to big. So Susie, bless her heart, took apart the dress and reconstructed the whole thing making it look still like the other bridesmaid dresses and fitting my big belly! It was beautiful! I have reccommended her to all my family and friends! She is the best at alterations in my eyes!!

Susie is absolutely amazing. My fiance & I unexpectedly moved up our wedding due to the failing halth of a family member. I had 6 days to find a dress which then needed to be altered around the chest, in the midst of boning and intricate beadwork. I called Susie on a Tuesday in a panic & explained my story. She was able to see me within a few hours & assured me she could help. She said it would take 2-3 days to get done which would have been amazing but she called the NEXT DAY and had it done! It was unbelievable! When I went to pick it up, she had the dress bagged up and steamed. I asked if I needed to try it on and she said no, which at first concerned me a little. But on my wedding day 3 days later, I slipped into the dress and it fit PERFECTLY. She had done exactly what I asked for, not to metion she listened to my story, made me feel comfortable & even offered words of comfort and encouragement. I would HIGHLY recommend Susie to EVERYONE.

I just moved to Des Moines 2 months ago and needed alterations done on a bridesmaid dress. Suzie seriously is amazing! She pretty much reconstructed my dress in a very short time frame to make it fit. I don't know what I would have done without her help. She has been so sweet and nice through the whole process! (Even though the dress was quite a challenge) I would recommend Suzie to anyone looking for alterations. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and very organized. I will not go to anyone else in Des Moines!
