Provided by YPmobileI went to pick up my daughter's dog and some judgemental bitch said if she wanted to be a pet owner she needed to be responsible owner and pick it up herself. My daughter owns an in-home daycare and couldn't drag her daycare kids to their office. And she has spent THOUSANDS of dollars on invisible fences and real fences and the dogs keep getting out. HOW DARE THEY JUDGE HER

Provided by YP.comThe only reason I gave them a 3 star rating was for their support of animals. Hower, I found those that were working in their relinquish department extremely rude. We had to take our cat in for adoption because we were moving and couldnt take with us. After telling us there was a$25 fee to relinquish our rights, we told the 2 ladies we didn't have it because we just spent most of our money on moving. There were several other people in line behind us when they asked 'have you got $10? $1? ten cents? We kept saying we just have i at this time? Then they asked us if we had a debit or credit card? When we said we don't have it, we meant it. Asking these questions in front of all these people was 'extremely embarrassing'. They need to be trained more on their manners with the public.

Last May I adopted an adorable puppy from the ARL in Des Moines. The staff was amazing and it was obvious that they really care for the animals. If you are interested in a new addition to your family please visit the ARL I can't imagine my life without Max!! Thank you ARL for everything you do for the animals!!!!

Adopting from ARL is so much cheaper than buying a dog or cat. Your pet will already be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have all their shots except for rabies. What a deal! The facility is nice and clean, and you can tell the pets are well taken care of there. I can't wait until I can adopt another pet, and I know my new friend will come from ARL!

I adopted my cat from the ARL, he had been waiting patiently in adoption for 6 months :( he was so social and loved to play and he fit right in to our home. I can't imagine my life with our newest family member Frisky - love him!

I just adopted a sweet little pitbul from the ARL and everything went very smooth! I really appreciated the resources they had available to me. I could talk to an adoption counselor and even get training advice!Thank you ARL!

I have adopted all of my animals from the ARL and have been so impressed. The animals were happy, healthy and so well-behaved and the staff and volunteers were friendly and supportive. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. You can tell the animals there are very well cared for and get lots of attention. It was only $125 to adopt my dog and $110 to adopt my cat - that included vaccinations, their spay or neuter surgery, and microchip - it would have been hundreds more to do those things at my vet's office. I don't understand why people buy animals when they can adopt for way less money and it saves a life. I love the ARL!

This animal "rescue" doesnt do as they claim. They put down 38+ cats for money only. There was a qualified vet at a hoarding situation in Story City who had to FIGHT to be able to take 12 of the cats but was refused to take anymore. ARL only cares about numbers and money nothing more. There are so many rescues and shelters out there within the state. PLEASE donate to them instead. Raccoon Valley is a very good one as well as Dr Deppe in Jewell and dont forget about HEART in Eldora
