Provided by YP.comYou have got to try this place! The sandwiches are to die for and John and the crew are the nicest ever. Oh and the bacon??? My husband and 4 year old won't touch bacon from anywhere else ever again!!! Te meat bundles are a killer deal too for those on a budget! for about $200 a month this family of four can eat high on the hog (and cow also some chicken lol) for an entire month! The best sandwich? My 4 year old says its the pork tenderloin, I say it's a Zach's killer, GF says Dad's killer, and hubby says a Quadzilla ( a monster 4 beef patty cheeseburger!!). So come on down and try a killer sandwich and if you are truly brave, ask about the Killossal!

Provided by YP.comI was introduced to B&B Grocery & Deli by a friend of mine. I was told that you can't find a better deli sandwich than what you'll get at B&B.
When you first enter Macklind Avenue Deli, you immediately notice the walls are decorated with sports memorabilia. Baseball, football, and boxing, it's all there. You then realize that you've been transported back to a time when butcher shops were part of a neighborhood. For decades people went to the place for milk, bread, eggs, and more. Now, the grocery store has become a fantastic deli and butcher shop. It's hard not to feel the passion the staff have for the meat market and deli.
I went in to B&B to buy a sandwich and left with some of the best steaks I've ever bought. The butchers at B&B will cut a steak anyway you want it. I've been back to buy steaks many times now and haven't been let down not once.
As for their deli sandwiches, they're unbelievable. I've been told that they were named for having the best deli sandwich in Des Moines. I believe it. The only thing I can't figure out is what sandwich is the best. They're all great. I tend to favor their grilled rib-eye sandwich and their breaded pork tenderloin. Very tasty!
Anyone visiting Des Moines should visit B&B. This is a hidden jewel in Des Moines, and my only regret is not discovering B&B sooner.

Provided by YP.comWhen you walk in to B&B it is like walking into the past. They have great food, great meat, and great service. The first time I walked in they treated me like I'd been there 100 times before. I went to try their sandwiches. I had their Dad's Killer. Let's just say I saved half for later. Great sandwich. I highly suggest you buy meat at B&B. The first time I bought steaks I wanted some good thick t-bones to grill. I couldn't believe it. They cut perfect steaks right in front of me. I wish there were more places like this one in Des Moines.
