Provided by YP.comShelly, the executive director, and all of the teachers and staff at Capitol Park are great to work with. I couldn't ask for better communication, from the daily sheets for routine updates to the occasional phone call to discuss when kiddo isn't feeling well. They have always accommodated any special requests I have made. I've always felt comfortable leaving kiddo there knowing that kiddo is being well cared for and that they have kiddo's health and best interest in mind.

Provided by YP.comWe LOVE Capitol Park Early Learning Center! My son has been attending Capitol Park since April 2016 when he was four months and is now joined by his little sister. You cannot beat the affordable prices (best in town for a center) and the convenient location being right off the interstate and close to downtown. Shelly, the director, is fantastic! Just last week when I arrived to pick up my children, she had my daughter (who I had been called about earlier in the day regarding her refusal to take her bottles due to teething) in her office, with the lights off, cuddled against her eating her bottle. My daughter's teachers had let Shelly know about her struggles that day, and Shelly went out of her way to figure out what my daughter needed in order to eat. I feel like ALL of the teachers, regardless of their assigned rooms, have that kind of dedication to the kids. We're always greeted by all employees we see, my kids always welcomed by name, even by the older rooms' teachers they haven't gotten to yet. I'm also very impressed with the daily curriculum. My son constantly surprises us with things he's learned, whether it's just singing certain songs, or working on colors, numbers, letters, etc. Prior to being verbal, he even surprised us with some sign language! I just feel like what they learn in this setting would never be beat by typical in-homes! And lastly, I've always been impressed with the personalized attention. I always get to hear about my kids' days verbally and summarized on a written form. They also consider the individual rather than just following protocol when it comes to making changes. As an example, when my son was approaching the move to the next room, Shelly and his teachers actually coordinated to have him move with his two little buddies, despite each being a couple months a part, to ensure the smoothest transition possible. We just really couldn't be happier with our experiences at Capitol Park - highly, highly recommend!

Provided by YPmobileThe worst center ever!! Id send my kids to Bear Basics before i ever thought about this place again!!!! The director(gloria) doesnt care about anyone but herself. She threatens the kids.. She told a child " if you bite me thatll be the last thing you ever do" & the 2 year old teachers are worthless!!!! They never know what happens to the kids when they get hurt. All they do is sit around & talk.. Ph & lets not forget one of them beats peoples kids! I know this for a fact!!! & the director says she cant do anytging about it if she doesnt see it. Or her favorite line is "oh i couldnt see her doing that" & acts like your lying!!! The worst place ever!!!!!!! Wouldnt even send my dogs there.

Capitol Park is a very good daycare. Teachers are capable, childrens' needs are taken care of well. Be weary of the director, too young and not well versed in laws and how to properly handle herself with parents.
