Saydel High School is a public, coeducational institution that serves students in grades nine through 12 and offers a range of educational services. It offers various academic courses, such as mathematics, English, social studies, science and foreign languages. The high school also offers culinary classes where students plan, prepare and serve lunch to invited family members, friends and staff members. It offers a service learning program, a semester class for junior and senior students that includes various activities, such as working on flashcards, vocabulary words, reading stories, playing games and doing paper work. The school also provides a variety of athletic activities, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling. The high school is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and is a part of the Saydel Community School District.
