I went into Tandy leather this afternoon, not knowing exactly what I needed for my project. They were quick to help me find what I needed, along with answering any questions that I had. Their prices were more than fair and they had a great selection of items on sale. Shopping there was a great experience.

I came in looking for a thick, brown, 12 by 12 inch piece of leather. First they tried to sell me a 9x11 prepackaged piece, but I pointed out that it was actually 8.5x11 (too small for my needs), which they didn't seem to believe until I measured it. Then they told me the only way to buy a 12x12" piece was to buy one 4-5 times larger (at great expense) and waste most of it. When I asked what one does to but a foot of leather the clerk literally just stared and shrugged. I've used Tandy on and off for over 20 years, but I've never had to deal with lazy garbage like this. At best, find another supplier, at worst, just order online. These folks aren't going to be much help.
