Keep Looking

I was a long time resident of Woodland Park and my experience there was a slow decline from the moment I moved into one of their two bedroom units. The majority of neighbors are fine, however there are some glaring exceptions of loud music played at all hours of the night, children stampeding through the halls screaming, and visible birthday cards that may not have been secured completely in the mailbox being torn open in search of checks and money. On several occasions I found myself calling the police over fist fights in the court yard or neighbors fighting with explicit language being very audible through the hallway. Amenities and office availability had also become fairly non-existent. The office would often be closed at odd times, or not open at all, and just recently, morning office hours and management availability had been cut out entirely. I don't think the pool had been open for the past three years, the club house hasn't be available for rental for years either and anymore the only utilities that are covered is gas. I had my air conditioner go out in the dead of summer, and took two weeks to have it remedy. During that two weeks I was forced to live outside of my apartment at my expense. No accommodations were given to my family, but they happily collected my rent without fail. Finally get rid of the roaches in your apartment? Don't worry, they'll be back soon enough. The laundry rooms in my building had not had operable lights for months, and they still didn't by the time I moved. There would be frequent times the washing machine would be broken, and it would take a incredibly long time to repair, thus forcing residence to share one laundry facility, or seek one of the facilities in one of the other buildings on campus.I know that apartment living has its quirks. However this complex had gotten to downright nightmarish. To the tune of almost $800/mo (when including water, trash, sewer, and fee for billing you), I would expect a much better residential management experience. I wasn't expecting the Ritz, just a decent place to live. This place was anything but.
