In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums in what was at one time the Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club. A loyal following was quickly established due, in no small part, to the quality of the food and the attention to detail of the service. In 1998 The Southern Restaurant Group took ownership of the restaurant with a commitment to maintain the same level of food quality and service. Since then, Louisiana Lagniappe has consistently served only the freshest seafood and steaks. Now open year round, Louisiana Lagniappe is the spot for a memorable dining experience on all levels. In 1999, a second Louisiana Lagniappe was opened in the San Roc Cay Shopping and Marina Complex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Offering the same fine Louisiana seafood with a Creole flair, the attire is casual, yet an upscale waterfront dining experience is provided for the entire family. In 1984, Louisiana Lagniappe was opened and established inside Sandpiper Cove condominiums in what was at one time the Sandpiper Cove Yacht Club. They refused to serve my 36-year-old wife simply because she forgot her id. They refused to allow her to drink my bottle of wine I brought. Disgraceful!

food good, but...

Food was generally very good. I never thought before of using the word "flaky" for hush-puppies. The gumbo was rich (not enough file for me, but more than enough for most others)--even including oysters! Grouper was well cooked. Two cavils: muniere sauce was runny, and the vegetables (a broccoli crown "garnished" with slices of summer squash) was over-cooked and mushy. The real problem: the restaurant saw fit to honor my VISA gift card at only 80% of face value--an outrage. Forewarned is forearmed.

5 star

I've eaten here on several occasions and never been disappointed . The food , atmosphere , and service is 5 star quality in my book . Look forward to it every summer . The gropper ponchatrain is AWESOME and my personal favorite ( even if i mispelled it ) !!!!!!!!!!!!

A Favorite

this place has been a favorite for 20+ years and the food is still awesome. light, fluffy, crispy hushpuppies served while you study the menu. my favorite entree is the very simple grouper meuniere, but also love and highly recommend the oysters lagniappe, seafood & andouille fettuccine, grouper cocodrie and the eggplant. no reservations but worth the wait. terrific specials during the off-season. LOVE this place.
