This business has so much potential, but the management/workers leave a lot to be desired. I used to go to Serenity a lot because when the stylists are fully attentive, you get good results. However, there have been a number of times when I've gone to their salon and stylists have had their young children present. Now when I go to receive a professional service, I don't want a bunch of little kids running around, and honestly if the children were well-behaved and not bothering the stylists, I wouldn't even mention it. But the kids are constantly bothering the stylists and distracting them, thus giving me lower quality results on the services I requested. Which, I wouldn't even complain about if I got an overly conservative hair cut or dye job that wasn't as close to the roots as it should have been. But I once spent five hundred dollars on a weave from their salon only to have the thing fall out entirely two days later because the stylist had her two year old there distracting her so the stitching wasn't right. Needless to say, I demanded compensation for the crappy service and Carla offered to fix it for free, but it doesn't make up for it in my mind that they're going around doing sub par work because the stylists have decided to turn their work place into their own personal day care service. If Carla reads this, please fix this problem before you lose even more clientele.

I will never go anywhere else except Serenity Salon! i did not know that such great customer service existed in a salon and in Detroit Lakes until I went here. Very warm and inviting environment, all of Karla's workers are polite and personal when working with you. They do what YOU want for your hair but also give an expert opinion on whether it will look good or work for your hair style, that is awesome! You can get so much done at this salon, its amazing! Always smiling faces when you enter and they all work so hard. Thank you Serenity!!!

It turned out to be an awful all day experience, I WILL NEVER GO BACK...VERY POOR MANAGEMENT!
