Poorest rating possible: Neither Ms. Barrett nor her representatives ever met with the client outside the courtroom or returned calls from family, there was failure to appear in court or send a representative on at least one occasion, she sent a variety of substitutes on all but one occasion eliminating the possibility for a cohesive defense, representation was extremely late on several occasions aggravating the court, she failed to try to secure evidence in a timely manner that would have exonerated the client, and no recommendation or request for leniency was offered at sentencing.
