The Municipal Parking Department is one of the departments of the city of Detroit. It is responsible for the operational maintenance of public parking areas and on- and off-street public parking services. Additionally, the department is responsible for issuance of parking cards to the general public and forms for group parking arrangement reservations for hosting games and corporate and musical events. The Municipal Parking Department also issues ordinances in case of parking violations and addresses the state government for improvement of parking facilities as a part of the economic development projects throughout the city of Detroit. It also operates a parking violations bureau that collects payments from defaulters and serves as an information center for the general community. The department also has an administrative office to review and approve group parking arrangement applications and provide customer services to the public. It additionally runs shuttle services from parking facilities to business centers.
