Detroit Recovery Project

Detroit Recovery Project focuses on providing support to communities dealing with substance use and alcohol addiction. Through meditation, spirituality, learning circles, and 12-step meetings, the center provides recovery support. A range of safe and sober activities are carried out for social support. Other activities undertaken involve rallys, marches, poetry, karaoke, basketball and bowling leagues. Workshops are conducted for health education and employment. Outreach programs to prevent HIV amongst ex-offenders and high risk individuals are also regularly conducted by the center. In partnership with the City of Detroit Department, Detroit Recovery Project provides vaccines for H1N1 flu and Hepatitis. Other recovery programs are Cognitive Behavior Therapy groups, volunteering programs and adult education services.
