Matrix Human Services is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit social service organizations in Michigan. The center provides respite care, emergency placement, family and group therapies, on-site tutoring, mentoring, recreation substance abuse screening and referral, community mental health and psychiatric services. It also offers adult education, outpatient substance abuse counseling, health and child care assistance, life skills and independent living classes, youth leadership development and employment services. In addition, the center offers a variety of social, recreational, transportation, educational and cultural activities for youth between the ages of 5 and 17. Matrix Human Services has been operational since 1906 and is located in Detroit.
