I met Personalized Marine Maintenance at the Detroit Cobo Boat Show in 2013. I recently purchased my Father's 1988 Starcraft with Evinrude 90 and 15 HP kicker was charged over $1400 to have PMM to fix power trim tilt on 90 and overhaul / tune both motors. Took boat out on lake in summer of 2014 first time out 90 hp died less then 100 yrds. from boat launch. Decided not to go back to PMM because they wanted to charge me again to look at Motor. Took boat / motors to Lockeman's hardware and boat found problem with spark plugs that were never replaced from $1400 PMM tuneup. I will never recommend or suggest anyone deal with them. Horrible service take your hard earned money and go to Lockeman's to have your New / Old Evinrude serviced correctly. Boat motor(s) ran flawlessly after Lockeman's serviced them. They charged me less than $200 for both motors.

took my boat to them , after quote of $230.00 for carb rebuild, 85 h.p. evinrude. was told I needed new starter, and to use synthdic lube in lower unit, and was charged $85.00 to tell me , no carb rebuild, unless $905.00 for coils power pack ,new starter, and refused to do the work as intended . the starter needed alignment, and gear, was running before bringing it to them , then the owner wrote on the original invoice, not on my copy , a $85.00 fee for checking out no spark was found, and $905.00 for repair, but refused to finish the carb rebuild, the original reson I took it there. nothing was written to tell me what they found, I think it sat a week and ripped me off for $85.00, I believe it was illegal to fill in fee on there copy, after job was underway.
