This restaurant is newly reopened. The courtyard is the new dining area. It has floor to ceiling windows which provide amazing natural lighting. This is the unique selling proposition. This sets them apart. Beautiful!

Food was great and the service also great! The only thing I didn't like was the mild salsa. It was too salty and watery. Besides this great!

All the restaurants are good, this seems to be on [ar with them all. TO me they all taste the same but have a different name. So take a drive and oick a restaurant in Mexicantown, they are all okay but nothing special.

El Zocalo is one of the wonderful Mexican Restaurant in Mexican Village. While not as popular as Xochimilco, the food is every bit as good which means that you'll probably get seated quicker. They have some unique menu items as well and they are delicious. Give it a try the next time you're down in that part of town looking for a good Mexican dinner.The only thing that keeps El Zocalo from getting 5 stars is the hit and miss service I've received. It's been wonderful but at the same time there have been a couple times it's been horrid. One of those was my birthday so it sticks with you.

The food is real good here and the atmosphere is great as well. Love the service, I mean you get great service here. They care about your experience here. If your looking for real bad service then go across the street south and get bad food and terrible service. I keep on coming back for more!!!!!!
