Formed in 1899, VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) serves as one of the largest organization of combat veterans. Based in Dothan, Ala., it provides troop support, post military assistance, family assistance, transitioning, national military services and national veteran s service. VFW has fought for improving the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center services for women veterans. The association s national military services (NMS) promote positive awareness of the VFW through community involvement, communication tools and financial support to qualified military service members.
