Provided by YP.comI have been going to Deya since 2011. I think she is AWESOME!! Her prices are VERY good and cheaper then most Dominican salons I have been through. I no longer live in Douglas County and I still drive from Atlanta to her salon. As I was looking at other comments, I can tell that those people who wrote negative things can't be please. I don't mind waiting for beautiful hair. Any salon you go to you will wait, even if you have an appointment. For as long as I have been going to Deya she has never did young children's hair. I actually like that. To me that says something about a business owner to turn down money for the sake of the child's hair. At 4 no childs hair can handle that much heat. I Love Deya, and her work. I say give her a try before you look at these incorrect reviews on her shop and professionalism.

Provided by YP.comI love Deya's Dominican Hair Salon. She takes care of my hair every two weeks and has reasonable prices. She is very respectful and does a phenomenal job with my hair. I have naturally really kinky hair and she gets my hair so straight that it looks like I have a relaxer. Other ladies in the shop were surprised how straight she got my hair because they had seen how coarse my hair was before. Deya does miracles at such a low price. If I were to go to a traditional salon, I'd at least have to pay $60 or $70 to get the same quality that I receive at Deya's salon. I highly recommend her to do anyone's hair. She will definitely surprise you with what she can do!

Provided by YPmobileI went to Deya's on a Saturday morning. The shop has nice decor. It was only two people in front of me. I was not greeted I was asked if I had been there before. I told them it was my first time at the salon. She asked what did I want I said a wash and set. I was washed and conditioned. I was told to have a seat by the door remind you my hair is wet and its cold in the shop. So after sitting there for approximately 40 minutes. I asked how much was the wash because I can not just sit there when two other workers are walking around and I could be under dryer. Deya stated come on I will blow you out now. She blower me out and my hair was pretty. She then told me 40. I asked why forty when she told me 25. She said she just realized my hair was natural and it is extra for a blow out. I stated to her my hair is not natural and that I had a relaxer two weeks ago. She said no because it curled when it was wet and she have the right to decide. Then she went on to say the blow out is extra I stated I did not ask for a blow out I stated I could be under dryer drying instead of sitting there and you stated to come on you would blow it out. She began to speak Spanish to workers. Long story short I ended up paying 40.00 and I was not quotes that. Workers are not professional at all. From now on I will make the drive to Marietta or Norcross to get my hair done. I will never return back to Deya's
I consider myself a very professional person. I'm a respectfull hard working women. Overall I work with my heart. I'm consider one of the hair stylist in Douglasville that charges less for a wash. Before I even touch one of my clients heads I take a look into my customers hair to see whether it's relaxed, or natural, and over phone I can't tell any customer the price for what they are looking for. I need to see with my own eyes to tell you the overall price. Over the phone customer always tell me that they have relaxed hair, but ones I wash there hair it shows whether is natural or relaxed. I've had this salon for over 2 years now with customers coming in everyday. I treat them with respect, and dignity. I hope you have blessed day.

Provided by YP.comI have been visiting Deya's salon since she opened. My experienced has always been great and I WOULD RECOMMEND this salon to everyone! Deya as a hair stylist is one of the best in GA by far. When I moved here I tried all kinds of salons from Douglasville to Marietta and no one knows how to handle curly thick hair like her. Unfortunately, this salon had to deal with some ignorant people that thinks black hair is easy to manage. I have seen people coming to the salon, while I'm waiting, and OMG their hair is so bad that they'll be better if they shave it all off and buy a wig! People need to understand that black hair is no easy to handle, but yet doable. You need to be patience and very clear of what you want to do with you hair. Also recognize that it needs lots of treatment in order to be manageable and healthy! Don't blame a hairstylist for the way your hair is. I personally have seen her doing this kind of hair and the ladies looks so beautiful that doesn't even look like "black" hair at all! So next time instead of being negative and easy to judge someone, be clear of what you want and conscious of the kind of hair you have; otherwise, why don't you do it yourself? And remember that kids don't like to seat on any salon chair no matter where you take them; I'm sure that she just don't want to hurt them much less be rude. In addition, I've seen kids literally destroying the magazines and simple misbehaving and their mothers do nothing to stop this little rascals! That is not fair to any business. Yes, her English might not be the best and her daughter is the one that actually translate for her; but she is trying to learn the language and that's what matter. The most important, is that she is a professional with great great skills to manage any kind of hair so I encourage anyone to give her a try....I assure you won't regret!
Im not the owner but wanted to respond this this review. The way you implied that black hair is something that is disgusting and should be shaved off is more ignorant that you poorly written review. From your writing errors and comments, I can tell that you are the ignorant one. Save your judgements for the quality of the salon as requested... keep your other comments to your self~

Provided by YP.comI went to this shop on a Sunday morning to get my four year olds hair done for an event. I had been going to this salon for a few months because being from N.Y. I was accustomed to getting my hair done by domican salons. When I walked in no one was in the shop, with the exception of the owner and the stylist who normally does my hair. I told the owner I wanted to get my daughters hair done. Immediately she started talking in spanish to a little girl ( I assume this was her daughter). The little girl said that Deya didn't do childrens hair. My response was since when? I was just in the salon last week and several kids were getting their hair done. She asked if my daughter would cry, would she hold still. Finally my daughter must has sensed something and ran out the salon. I could understand if the salon was packed, but NO one was there. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit this salon based on the poor service and discrimination towards children.
I dont do kids hair thats under 10 years old. I love children, but with the heat of the blower the kid wouldn"t stay still, the would complaim, scream I just rather not go threw all that. I know how it feel with the heat of a blower and flat iron kids wont up hold that. Have a blessed day.

Provided by YP.comI am transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair and told them this before coming to get my hair done. The owner Deya said it was not a problem and that they could blow it out. Fine, so I'm in the middle of getting my hair washed and I notice that my hair is getting tangled. The shampoo girl washes out the shampoo and proceeds with the conditioner. At this point my hair is becoming more tangled and matted together from the way she is combing it. She starts combing from the root instead of starting at the ends and working her way up. She gets frustrated and in the mean time my hair is literally tearing out of my head. She then asks me to try to detangle it myself, so I'm like fine. I sat there for two hours trying to get all these knots out my hair and some were so matted, it felt like a dreadlock. Then the owner is like, so what do you want to do. I explained to her that my hair was halfway straight when I came in here and now its unmanageable and all in knots. Deya then calls one of her Spanish-speaking customers to translate to me that she is not going to do my hair and is not going to deal with it. I have never had a hair dresser refuse to do my hair because they don't want to deal with it, especially since they were the ones to cause this disaster. To make a long story short, my hair was past my shoulders, down my back before going to Deyas Dominican Salon, and now from all the damage, I had to cut it all off to my chin. I would not recommend anyone go to this salon. I had a horrible experience and have never seen such unprofessionalism, especially by the owner.
We're hair stylist not magicians. Lots of times after anyone takes there braids off there hair is pretty tangled, were sorry we couldn't help you. Thank you for your comment. Have a blessed day.
