I have gotten several different treatments from this salon. I was looking for a reasonably-priced place in Dover where my nail tech would understand my interest in gel manicures and what colors I liked without having to point or use sign language. I have loved other salons as well, but having someone who knows the word 'greige' is a blessing in my book. I have had a facial from KathyLee, who is excellent at her job, but we seem to have personality differences. (She is very talkative and energetic through what I feel should be a relaxing process). The nail techs are fantastic, and I had my hair highlighted there as well, and I left knowing that the over $100 I spent on it was worth it this time! I love this salon. While I tend to go more often when I have the $ to spare, it is always worth the price.

I totally disagree with the other reviewer. I am certainly not "one of the pretty people"! Cheryl has cut my hair the past few years and does an excellent job on my wavy medium length hair. She gave me excellent advice on my hair coloring, too. Emily does my pedicures and also gives me excellent service. The only time I have to wait is when their clients have been late and make the rest of their day run late. Over the years I've used other nail technicians and stylists and have always been pleased. I have also received excellent service from the receptionists regarding setting appointments and understanding when I need to cancel and reschedule. They are always polite and friendly. I highly recommend this salon!

I have tried and retried this salon a few times hoping that on one occasion I will not have to wait, be told my stylist is running late, my stylist's child is ill, or ,and this is my favorite and most often used... are you sure you have an appointment today?

I have learned that unless your are either a friend of Carol's, the owner, or "one of the pretty people" from Dover, you are just some whose money they want, but not someone that they really care what your hair looks like.

I have waited for months, and I mean months, for a facial, only to stand in front of the receptionist and here them say"oh sure KathyLee can fit you in".

Nails used to be great when Debbie was there. Not anymore.

I received 1 massage 3 year's ago from a very nice woman. She, unfortunately, has left the salon to go somewhere else. When I called to book another massage,nothing was said. I showed up to find that out and they felt it was ok to give me to someone else! Wrong.

I give this salon a very poor rating; this salon ,too me, falls under the catagory "it's not what you know or in The Upper Cut's case, what you look like, but who you know.

I recommend save your money and find a salon you feel comfortable in.
