While their fee-based services offer help with everything from career coaching to financial aid award analysis, the driving theme behind all that they do is cost minimization. After spending several years in the financial industry and seeing the effect of college debt first-hand, Accolade’s founding member (Joshua Bartlett) was introduced to the world of college planning and has made it a primary focus since. Both he and his wife, Bianca, have a scientific educational background and it shows in the approach they use for college cost minimization. College is expensive, but there are very legitimate ways of lowering the potential cost. Accolade Financial uses sound, scientific method to help their clients recognize maximum savings. With college debt having surpassed even credit card debt in this country, there is a dire need for such service. The biggest single challenge in getting high school students and their families this kind of help lies in them knowing that such services even exist.

I really loved the stress that Joshua and Bianca took off of us, parents of a freshman and a junior in high school. All the buzz at school was "College Planning" with needing to know our kids career choices, campus visits, PSAT/SAT/ACT prep, needing to know how much we are expected to pay based on our income, school application deadlines, FAFSA deadlines, CSS Profile deadlines, and then the whole acceptance process!
What the school made stressful and very confusing for all of us first timers, Accolade Financial made easy. So while all the other parents were spending thousands of dollars on campus visits to schools that were out of their price range, or didn't offer the preferences of the student, we had a specific, hand selected list of schools that met our children's and our criteria.
We could not have done it without Joshua and Bianca taking the time to get to know our kids and us and helping with every step of this confusing process.
I recommend Accolade Financial to everyone.
