I should’ve known when I walked in and the secretary was clipping out obituaries and doing mailings that this was not the place for us. But my 81-year-old father wanted to get the stone for my mom ordered as soon as possible and have closure. When you lose someone you love and are feeling quite vulnerable a sale is pretty easy. We ordered the stone confirmed dates and names and had an order written up. I asked the secretary to confirm the final draft with me via my email. She took my email address and said she would do so. I called several weeks later to check the status of the stone and she said it wasn’t close to being finished. Again she said she would email me The final form before the actual cutting of the Stone woud be made. Instead she calls my Dad who went to office and signed whatever they asked of him. The dates were wrong. When I confronted the lady she said she remembered she was to email me but lost my email address. She basically blamed the mistake call my 81 year old dad because he signed the papers. She did not go over paper work with him. When asking her what could be done she informed me nothing could be done it was my dad‘s fault even though the initial order form which I still have has the correct dates and names. I would never recommend this place because I think they take advantage of the vulnerable and the elderly. They were not willing to negotiate a compromise at all but another company took care of it for us without charge. Poor customer service from dover monument.
