When I first went to Dr. Holder's office for an appointment, I had every intention of seeing him and not either a nurse practitioner or a physician's assistant. After all, I thought the appointment was made to see specifically him. As it turned out, though, I ended up seeing the assistant, instead.

My next encounter with Dr. Holder was at a hospital when he performed a colonoscopy there in August, 2016. I did not have any contact with him at all until after I had already been taken to the examination room for the actual procedure. Just before I was sedated for it, he briefly spoke to me, but by this time, I had already been instructed to lie on my left side, which I was doing. During this brief exchange, he was always on the other side of me so that I was unable to see him at all.

After the procedure was finished, Dr. Holder briefly spoke to my girlfriend, but this was while I was still very much sedated and unconscious. In other words, even though he did a colonoscopy on me, I have yet to see the man. I wouldn't know him if I saw him walking in the door right now!

My girlfriend said that Dr. Holder was very business-like, and he acted as though he was in a hurry and had no time to talk or to explain the findings or to answer any questions.

Finally, Dr. Holder told my girlfriend that he would see me again in a year for another colonoscopy. I have a chronic condition known as ulcerative colitis which necessitates having it done every year. When I went to my previous gastroenterologist (prior to my switching to Dr. Holder), that previous specialist carefully monitored and followed my condition every few months, something that should be being done for it. Dr. Holder seemed uninterested in administering the same level of care as what I had been receiving for the same problem.

I will not go here. my first impression is that they are not interested in my business. The receptionist was extrememly rude on the phone. She was not helpfull, and even "snotty" when I had a general question. I'll drive to Canton.
