Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, also known as SCADP, is one of the largest nonprofit agencies for the treatment of substance abuse in Southern California. Founded in 1972, it focuses on the prevention and treatment of substance abuse and related problems, including homelessness, mental health disorders, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, criminality and welfare dependence. Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs serves deaf and hearing-impaired individuals and pregnant and parenting women, as well as their children. It provides more than 500 residential treatment beds and over 1,000 outpatient counseling slots that serve nearly 5,000 men, women and children every year. The agency offers residential treatment, outpatient, and drug and alcohol counseling services. Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs is funded by various federal and state government sources.
