With a location in Dublin, Calif., the Alameda County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property and suppresses criminal activities. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), American Correctional Association (ACA), National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) and California Medical Association (CMA). The Alameda County Sheriff's Office maintains detention and communication centers. The sheriff s office offers several support services, including gun registration, animal control, and traffic and parking law enforcement. It conducts judicial sales and auctions of seized and abducted property. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office supports Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE), which is a program that informs and involves crime victims in important matters related to their cases. It employs a staff of more than 1,500 sworn and nonsworn full- and part-time officers, civilians and community volunteers.
