My son's guitar instructor Michael Rak is a phenomenal musician. He initially taught my son violin but then helped my son transition from violin to guitar to accommodate my son's interests. He keeps the lessons interesting and fun. My son looks up to him, and this means a lot to me. This has been a great experience.

First Choice Music Studio instructors are great. I had this desire to play violin as an adult for a long time but I don't have a lot of time to devote to practicing since I work full time and have two small children. I thought why not give it a try, since the lessons are very convenient to my location, and I'm really glad I did. After a year I've begun to try out some new techniques at the encouragement of my instructor, who is very patient and makes me feel great about the whole experience. Learning to play an instrument from someone who can play very well can be intimidating, but not with First Choice - the lessons are fun, the instructor throws in lot of interesting facts about music in general that make it about more than just learning to play, it's also about appreciating music.

Mike is a great teacher. He has helped my daughter with Guitar, Viola and Piano. She always has a lot of fun as well as showing great improvement in her music skills.

My son has taken lessons for almost two years with First Choice Music Studio, and he hates to miss a lesson! The instructor mixes theory with real music that my son wants to play. We could not be happier with the quality of instruction and the flexibility of our instructor to fit in our lesson times with our ever changing schedule. Michael Rak is a great teacher. He helps me understand the guitar tablature in a fun, helpful way. He teaches me the songs that I am interested in playing, rather than the music in the basic student guitar books. He is patient and funny and has a cool music device that slows the tempo down so I can play along with the song while learning it. Mr. Rak has shown me easier ways to play the music I bring in by showing me different ways to play the chords.

Mike Rak is a wonderful teacher! From music theory to sight reading, he is willing to teach anything you want to know. He is flexible with scheduling and very knowledgable about music, an awesome combination. I've learned to play music I thought I would never be able to play. My only regret is not signing up for piano lessons sooner. You can definitely find a music lesson to look forward to with First Choice Music Studios!

As a 32 year old, I started back to violin lessons after being away for 19 years. I told Mike that I wanted it to be a "fun hobby". I couldn't be more pleased with my little "get-a-way" activity. Mike motivates me without being demanding. He never criticizes me for not practicing - we're going at my pace. Mike has made violin fun again!

I have taken many guitar lessons but I have learned more in the last 5 months of lessons than I have in the entire time I have played guitar. He really helps me understand the concepts behind the guitar so Im not only able to learn songs but create my own music. Some of the concepts I have learned I felt like they were secrets being kept from me, but when he teaches them to you it seems like common sense that is so essential in learning how to play the guitar. Best lessons I have experienced so far.

I started my 6 year old son at First Choice Music Studios for guitar lessons a year and a half ago. Our teacher has been very patient & encouraging during this time.
