I have traveled with Sunshine Tours since 1984. I have always had a good experience traveling with this tour group. On our last trip to Canada, we had the BEST bus driver. Maxwell was friendly to everyone on the bus. Would say hi and ask how you are and always give you a smile. He is the safest driver too. That means a lot to have people be nice to you. Will travel with them again especially if we can have Maxwell as our driver again.

I have travled with several different tour companies . I always go back to Sunshine Tours. You get more BANG for your buck. I just got back from their 4day Mystery Tour. There were 38 of us & we had a BLAST. Susan Fry was our tour guide & she made the trip so much fun. I have travled with Susan several time before. She has always been a first rate guide. I think over the years I have travled with all the different guides, Susan Fray is my top pick. All their guides are good but SEVERAL are A++. Glad to say Susan is one of those. Also Randy was our driver. What a GOOD job he did. Looking forward tomy next trip.

SOME DETAILS OF MY TRIP TO THE TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE DEC 29th 2012 – JAN 3rd 2013:

STRANGE THING IS THAT NOT ONE OF THE 14 TOUR PASSENGERS HAD SEATS TOGETHER ON ANY OF THE FLIGHTS.

THE TOUR GUIDE HANDS OUT OUR INTINERARY FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS WHICH WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE INTINERARY DESCRIBED IN THE SUNSHINE TOUR BROCHURE! WHEN I ASKED WHY WE WERE STAYING IN MARINA DEL REY AND NOT LA OR PASADENA, CA; THE TOUR GUIDE SAID THAT THIS WAS THE HOTEL THEY ALWAYS STAYED AT IN CA! SHE SAID THAT SHE KNEW A WOMAN NAMED LAUREN AT THE HOTEL! WELL, IF SHE DID THEN SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE AREA! I FELT VERY RUSHED TO SEE EVERYTHING AND NO REAL GUIDANCE FROM THE TOUR GUIDE EITHER. SHE HANDED US THE TICKETS AND WE WERE ON OUR OWN TO FIND THE WAY TO BANDFEST! THE GATES OPENED AT 1:30PM AND THE SHOW STARTED AT 2PM BY THE TIME WE GOT THERE AT 1:45PM WE WERE HARD PRESS TO FIND A SEAT!

MONDAY MORNING WE HAD AN OFFICAL TOUR GUIDE ON BOARD THE BUS TO SHOW US THE SITES OF LA! MICHAEL WAS A GREAT GUY, FRIENDLY AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE UNLIKE THE BUS TOUR GUIDE! I ASKED IF PLANS WERE MADE FOR DINNER AND I GOT NO RESPONSE SO I ASKED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD “I GOT IT TAKEN CARE OF” YEAH RIGHT I THOUGHT TO MYSELF YOU HAVE DONE ABSOLUTLY NOTHING ABOUT LOOKING INTO DOING SOMETHING FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE NIGHT THOUGH THE INTINERARY YOU HANDED TO US ON SATURDAY SAID THE POSSIBILITY OF SEEING FIREWORKS! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO GET OFF THE BUS AND TAKE A PICTURE OF ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS LANDMARKS IN BEVERLY HILLS --- THE $1.7 MILLION BUGATTI OWNED BY THE LATE CLOTHING MOGUL BIJAN. PARKED ON RODEO DRIVE IN FRONT OF BIJAN BOUTIQUE WHICH IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE STORE IN THE WORLD. --- THE FAMOUS FARMER’S MARKET MAY HAVE BEEN A HOTSPOT BACK IN THE DAY “MEET ME AT THIRD AND FAIRFAX” BUT FOR ME IT WAS LIKE AN INDOOR FLEA MARKET! WE WALKED BACK TO GET THE BUS AND OH GUESS WHAT I FIND AT THE ENTRANCE “MAPS” WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAND OUT TO US SINCE THE MARKET IS VERY CROWED AND BUSY! REALLY, THE TOUR GUIDE HAD NO CLUE ON HOW TO CATER TO THE CLIENTS! WE WERE RUSH TO HOLLYWOOD BLVD TO SEE THE STARS ON THE WALK OF FAME IN FRONT OF GRAUMAN’S CHINESE THEATER BUT THE THEATER WAS BOARDED UP AND HAVING WORK DONE SO WE SAW NOT ONE STAR OR SIGNATURE! ONE OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME THAT STARS AND THEIR SIGNATURES GO ON DOWN THE BLVD FOR ABOUT 2.5 MILES BUT WE WERE RUSHED TO THE DOLBY THEATER SO TO FEEL HOW IT IS TO WALK THE RED CARPET AND THEN THROUGH THE MALL TO A SPOT TO VIEW THE “HOLLYWOOD” SIGN IN THE HILLS! “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” IT IS 2013 AND THE MOMENT WE ALL HAD WAITED FOR: THE TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE! TICKETS ARE HANDED OUT AND WE ARE ON OUR OWN TO FIND THE BLEACHER SEATS FOR THE PARADE! SERIOUSLY, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GUIDE US TO OUR SEATS, ISN’T THAT YOUR JOB? I DOWNLOADED A MAP OF SEAT SECTIONS THE NIGHT BEFORE SO TO GUIDE MY PARENTS TO OUR SEATS. THE TOUR COMPANY DID GET GREAT SEATS FOR THE PARADE AND WE ENJOYED OURSELVES! THE TOUR GUIDE DECIDED TO GO TO THE GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY INSTEAD FOR 3 HOURS! REALLY, YOU GO TO AN OBSERVATORY AT NIGHT TO SEE THE STARS AND PLANETS IN THE SKY.

LAST DAY IN CA AND WE ARE TO SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS OR SO I THOUGHT FROM THE ORIGINAL INTINERARY IN THE BROCHURE BUT IT WAS ONLY 5.5 HOURS I KNOW THE WOMAN IS NOT STUPID AS SHE HAS A SMART PHONE AND I SAW HER ON THE COMPUTER AT THE HOTEL THE NIGHT BEFORE SO WHY CAN’T SHE DO HER JOB AND KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON ABOUT THE TRIP!

NEVER IN ALL MY LIFE HAD I WANTED TO COME HOME AND SO DID MY PARENTS! I HAVE TRAVELED ON TOUR BUS GROUPS SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS OLD AND THAT WAS THE WORST TRIP I HAVE EVER TAKEN. IF YOU EVER USE SUNSHINE TOURS NEVER ALLOW SUSAN FRYE AS YOUR TOUR GUIDE! YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE AND REQUEST KITTY STEPHENS AS MY PARENTS JUST CAME BACK FROM A 9 DAY FLORIDA TRIP AND HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME! AS FOR ME ABBOTT’S, CIE, OR STARR TOURS ONLY!!!!!

I absolutely do not agree with the previous reviewer.

I went on a 7 day round trip tour from Virginia to Canada. The bus was very clean, comfortable (with extra leg room, and I sat in the back), and well maintained. The bus driver was very courteous and helpful. The tour guide was very well mannered and and we played games on the bus as we rode along, and she pointed out many points of interest that she did not have to do and we even stopped by a couple of places that were not on the list for a short tour and shopping. The accommodations were clean and within walking distance to restaurants. All in all had a wonderful trip. They even have a family reunion trip once a year to meet up with the people you traveled with or meet the new ones. Many have used this company over and over again. I will absolutely tour with them again.

The Fall Trip to New England was wonderful! I loved the whole trip. Made new friends. Susan and Randy were great! They made sure we had a wonderful time. Never had to worry about a thing, just sit back and enjoy. It is a place I would love to go to again.

If your want a comfortable, clean, airconditioned all the time bus run by professional people that treat you with respect, DO NOT use sunshine tours. I recently went on a 29 day trip with them, I chose them because they were $1000 cheaper than a company I knew and liked. Well, you get what you pay for. The bus suspension was bad from the time we left. The air conditioning didn't work all the time. The bus was cleaned 2 times in 29 days. They advertised that there was extra leg room but this was true for only 1/2 the bus. The driver and tour director were unprofessional in dress and manner. The tour director was the tour director from hell. She was as sweet as pie when things were going her way but if anyone disagreed with her or had an opinion she went into a rage and screamed and threatened to put me off the bus in the middle of nowhere.

Spend the extra money and have an enjoyable trip.

If your want a clean, airconditioned bus with professional people that treat you with respect, DON"T travel with Sunshine Tours. I recently went on a 29 day trip with them and regret my choice. I chose them over another company I know and like because they were $1000 cheaper, Well, you get what you pay for. I got a dirty, uncomfortable bus which was air conditioned only part of the time and the Tour director from hell. They advertised that the seats had extra leg room but this was only true for 1/2 the bus. The bus was only cleaned 2 times in 29 days. The suspension was bad. The tour director was rude, crude, and very unprofessional in dress and manner. She was sweet as pie when things went her way but if someone else had a differing opinion she went into a rage, screaming and threatening to put me off the bus in the middle of nowhere. I didn't pay $5000 to be treated like that.
