The Endoscopy Center is an outpatient center used specifically for procedures involving the digestive tract, such as those that affect the esophagus, stomach and small and large intestine or colon. Gastroenterologists use endoscopes to examine the lining of the upper gastrointestinal tract in order to find the cause of symptoms including persistent heartburn, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. Colonoscopies are done using a similar instrument to look into the colon and intestines.
