Founded in 1854, Wartburg Theological Seminary is one of eight theological seminaries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States. Based in Dubuque, Iowa, it is a worship-centered community of critical theological reflection, offering a variety of programs and courses such as online courses, on campus courses and J-Term courses. Wartburg Theological Seminary has received accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
