Planned PETHOOD of GA is the best! I have taken 3 ferals there and not only are they the most caring staff, but the cost, is without question less than I would have ever expected. I don't know how they do it, but I will be donating my salary increase to this wonderful organization. They are a hidden jewel!!!!! Do not hesitate to take your animal there for anything. The best!!!!!!!!

I wanted to post my review of Planned Pethood of GA. I brought my walker/beagle mixes in last week (Daisy Mae and Chloe) both females to have spayed. I had a great experience I was a little nervous because I just wasn't sure about these places I see them kinda popping up. I just didn't want someone butchering up my baby girls. Well they did a wonderful job.The place was clean and the employees were friendly and the price was great! Chloe and Daisy are doing great they never licked their incision and they healed up really quickly. I was so surprised I mean I have had lots of dogs in the past and have been through all this before but this is the first time my dogs just healed up so quickly. So I just wanted to say you guys were great and I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family. Thanks again for a great job.

Superior pet care

I dropped two of my animals off to be spayed and was able to pick them up the same day. Cost will fit anyone's budget. One of my pets had a tumor under its tongue and they called immediately to let me know. Unfortunately I was not able to get back them; so much to my pleasant surprise when I arrived to pick up my animals they informed me they removed the tumor and they provided me with medication for her. They truly are an incredible staff who has your pet's best interest in mind. Professional, kind hearted, affordable! No other place I would go to!

This place was great. I took my 1year old, 13pound, male cat, Mufasa, there yesterday (11/15/12) to get him fixed and dewormed. The ladies there were so nice and caring. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I got there, I quickly was relieved by the atmosphere. I picked my cat up later that day, and when I got home, he was a little groggy but otherwise already back to normal. They sent a paper with detailed instructions home with me. Also, a form guaranteed of his 1year rabies shot, that comes with getting your animal fixed. I only paid $50 for his deworming, rabies, and neutering. Such a great price along with great service.

The best place in north GA area to get low cost spay/neuter for your pet. The clinic is convenient to get to from most areas in north Fulton, clean and friendly atmosphere. They won't turn you down if you show up without an appointment trapping cats especially. Planned Pethood has got the other clinics beat when it comes to cost. They are definitely trying to help stop more litters from being tomorrows statistics.

HIGHLY recommend Planned Pethood of GA to anyone who needs to get their cat or dog fixed. the staff is courteous, well informed, very caring and extremely dedicated to helping animals and the people who care for them. They are also very honest about the animals they have for adoption. They helped us with a special needs kitty who otherwise would have had to have been euthanized.

I take all the strays I rescue to Planned PEThood of Georgia not only because their prices are incredibly reasonable but because everyone there, from the staff to the volunteers, is so welcoming. The office and surgery areas are clean and bright, the animals in residence as well as the patients are well cared for, and the staff and volunteers truly care about helping animals. I recommend PPOG without reservation to anyone who's found a stray, wants to reduce the local feral-cat population, or just needs a low-cost option for a pet's spay/neuter or vaccinations.

In response to StayAway it mus...

In response to StayAway it must be noted that ALL surgeries come with a level of risk and this is clearly explained at the time the animal is dropped off. In fact, clients are required to sign a document stating that they understand the risks involved. It is unfortunate that the pet in question had an unfavorable outcome, but it can happen, and it does happen, whether the surgery is performed in a high-volume clinic or a specialized veterinary practice. Surgical complications or death are NOT an indication of fault or error on the part of the clinic or practitioner. I've had several animals spayed/neutered at Planned Pethood and have nothing but good things to say about the work these people do.

Pet overpopulation is a HUGE problem, and it is vital that the public understand that occasionally a pet will experience complications or possibly not survive due to underlying health problems or simply a bad reaction to the anesthesia. These are RARE occurrences and should NOT deter someone from taking advantage of the opportunity to reduce the number of unwanted pets that might otherwise end up being euthanized at animal control or abused on the streets. The risk of surgery FAR outweighs the consequences of not having your pet spayed/neutered, and Planned Pethood offers and excellent facility with skilled, caring staff who are more than capable of doing the job.

They had a very affordable price for spaying my golden retriever! I also paid extra for the e-collar & microchip, which were also affordable. If I ever have another dog, I will make sure to bring her/him to Planned Pethood :)

I can't say enough good things...

I can't say enough good things about this organization. I adopted my dog from the pound and needed to take him for additional tests that weren't covered in the adoption costs. Having a lowcost vaccination program was so helpful to me personally, and I feel is an inducement to those who can't afford the prices at a traditional vet's office. As it turned out, my dog did have an issue that needed immediate care, and the staff at Planned Pethood were so kind and so caring to me and to my dog. They immediately pointed me in the right direction, and I can't thank them enough. If not for Planned Pethood, I can honestly say that my dog would not have gotten the loving attention he did.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Words cannot express how much I wish that we had never heard of this place! We took our beautiful, healthy 1 year old male kitty in to be neutured and followed all their post-surgical directions. Now, one week later our cat is dead!!! I agree with "STAY AWAY" and my advice to everyone is STAY AWAY and go to a REAL vet!!!

The directors of Planned PEThood have spoken with this client via phone, e-mail, and by letter. Their beloved cat had an underlying condition which was undetectable through a routine examination. The condition is known as pyothorax. Unfortunately, this condition would have made the kitty very sick, very soon and his neuter surgery brought it on sooner. We sympathize deeply with their grieving for their family member and understand their desire to place blame. However, an independent veterinarian who saw their cat after he became ill determined that their was no connection between his illness and his neuter surgery. The comment below is from the same family.

They may have killed my mom's cat...

This place has a good plan but extremely poor execution. My mom mom took her cat to them less than a week ago and now he is at the vet dying of an auto immune disease that he caught from them using dirty tools - which they admitted to doing. Do not ever take an animal to them if you care anything about whether the animal lives or dies. They vet that Sawyer (my moms cat) is at says that he gets lots of sick animals from these people botching spay/neuter surgeries. Do yourself and your pets a favor and take them to a real vet until these people figure out how to do surgeries properly.

This review is from the same family as the review above which we have already responded to. Therefore, I will not repeat our response except to say that we understand their grieving and need to place blame. The vet who saw their cat after his surgery most certainly did not say that she gets a lot of customers from Planned PEThood's "botched surgeries". We also did not "admit" to using dirty instruments. Each surgery is done with a separate sterile pack of instruments. We believe that Planned PEThood provides the highest possible standard of care and offers a valuable service to our community.

I have been to planned pethood...

I have been to planned pethood of Ga twice and I have been extremely happy each time. I also take my ferals to get shots (which they give on the first of the month). These people are caring and try ever so hard to tak take of animals and to find homes for animals(cats and dogs) that are either thrown away or given up. We need more people and places like this

These people are the type that will bend over backward, sideways, and every other way to help these animals. Their passion for things furry and fluffy show through what they do. Their vets are top-notch and knowledgeable, and the environment is welcoming. I can't give a higher recommendation for a place to neuter your pets, or update his or her vaccines!

As for the negative review below, stayaway, this is quite obviously not a cut and dry situation. Your pet has been gone from your care for ONE WEEK. He could have been attacked by a cat. He could have been hit by a car. He could have impaled himself on a stick. You are making some presumptuous assumptions.

The veterinary staff here is beyond well qualified...not only in spay/neuter but all aspects of feline and canine health. They have gone above and beyond for me and anyone I have referred. PLANNED PETHOOD ROCKS!!

This is in response to Stay Aw...

This is in response to Stay Away. I have used and recommended the services at Planned Pethood since I discovered them. My dog goes in for vaccinations and heart worm testing and my cat was just spayed a couple of weeks ago. I thing it's an unfair assessment on your part. You are talking about a feral cat that was released 24 hours after surgery. Anything could have happened. he could have gotten into a fight, or he could have picked at it himself (being he did not have a protective collar, which males are prone to do) . The treatment here, since I began going, has been nothing but excellent. My kitty's surgery went off without a hitch and she has healed beautifully. For those of us who cannot afford the prices at a regular vet clinic this is a Godsend. I would recommend them to anyone and I trust them with my pets who are like my children.
