I am almost reluctant to write a review, because this restaurant is a hidden treasure. Once it is discovered by the masses it will be impossible to get a table in this cute and cozy place. Dinner at this restaurant reminded me of family dinners at my grandmother's place(except there are no plastic covers on the furniture and no Italian obscenities being yelled from the kitchen). The food is amazing. I was born and raised a New York Italian. My family and I have been sauce snobs for years. We know good sauce! Until now nothing in Florida has come close to our recipe. Please note I said until now! J's Little Italy has the best sauce! The veal and chicken are pounded to tender perfection. The pasta is amazing. There is plenty of food. You wil not leave hungry and if you do, it will be your own fault. The food just keeps coming out of the kitchen. Dinner includes salad, soup, three bean salad, garlic bread, and the main course. The service is friendly, and if the wife of the owner is around you will feel like you just stepped into New York City's Little Italy, she looks Irish but there is no mistaking her Italian roots(we mean heritage not hair). By the way we found out the owner's name is actually Julian, he bought the place from Joseph well over seven months ago. Julian has been cooking in Italian restaurants for twenty four years(he claims he started when he was fourteen). Based on his young good looks we believe him. He has a two chefs who assist him and yes they are both named Joe. Italian music is playing in the background, a little more Frank would be good but hey you can't have everything. If you are a fan of the previous owners, not to worry, they are often at the restaurant eating, picking up food to go, or just saying hi to Julian. Stop in the next time you need some delicious comfort food, or your homesick for New York, Italy, or your big Italian family dinners.
