Durham Elementary School provides an educational program for the growth and development of students in grades kindergarten through five. It operates under the Durham Unified School District and offers a curriculum that includes reading, writing, vocabulary, English literature, mathematics, social studies, science and computer application. In addition, it also offers storytelling classes, music lessons, physical education, and health and nutrition classes. It provides after school activities, such as motor skills training and hand eye coordination, spelling bee contests and sports, such as basketball, tennis and soccer. It is located in Durham, Calif., and organizes several fun activities for the students, including annual chalk art extravaganza, student council election, field trips, picture day and Christmas and Halloween celebrations.
