One year ago today I walked through the doors into another step in my recovery. It wasn't going to be my first time in treatment and I expected a quick fix over winter break, then back to school to finish out my spring semester. I could always go back to treatment in the summer, or so I thought. Little did I know, this "quick fix" would turn into a five month adventure. I left school, friends and family behind as I continued to conquer the mountain that lay in front of me. Returning back to the house after a first shot on partial was one of the most difficult things I had to face. I wasn't ready to do it on my own. With the love and support of my CH girls i regained my strength and took another step forward. I'm still climbing my mountain, but thanks to CH I am one step closer to getting to the top. I have the tools and support to fight. I know that as I continue my journey I have my CH girls behind me, fighting with me.

I don't feel like I have really thanked Carolina House for everything it did for me, after being to another treatment center and realizing that it did nothing for me and I didn't need it, I also realized how much I had learned from CH. Everything I needed, I already had and not just with my ED, but with everything. I feel so much better about life and myself and I really have Carolina House to thank for that, all the wonderful women and staff and therapists and just everyone there helped me get my life back and I am truly thankful for that. So thank you for being so amazing CH and I miss you guys!

One year ago today, I left everything and everyone I knew behind and entered the Carolina House doors. The amazing staff of therapists, nurses and RPAs gave me the support and tools I needed to find my way out of the darkness of my disorder and into the light of recovery. I chose recovery on that day one year ago and I have been choosing it every day since. I am eternally grateful not only to the entire CH staff, but also to my beloved CH girls who continue to support and remind me that I am never alone on this journey.

A year ago today, Erin let me lead mindfulness in DBT with an interpretive dance party to the song "Just the Way You Are"...celebrating the fact that later that day, I was discharging and taking on the world. It's been exactly one year, and I'm so grateful for all of the staff and workers at CH, and all of my amazing friends, who helped save my life.

My life isn't perfect, but I wouldn't be anywhere close to where I am today --and would definitely not be featured on blogs about how to live. -- if it was not for CH...

It's been three months now since I graduated and every day I'm grateful for what the people at this place have done for me - both the staff and the other women, who I really believe *care* about me, and keep believing in what can feel so impossible for me. You taught me that I am a survivor - and that even at my wits end, I don't give up. Because that's not who I am. thank you for everything.

Carolina House saved my life nearly a year ago from a six year battle of Anorexia. I was able to return back to school this summer, resume a healthy relationship with running, become employed, and mend the relationships in my life that were formerly broken.

It's been over a year since I entered the doors of Carolina House and I'm so grateful for that opportunity. CH saved my life and my sanity. It's such an amazing program and I can't reiterate this enough but I am so glad I went.
