RGG Architects, PLLC
1002 Broad St, Durham, NC 27705
RGG Architects - History RGG Architects has provided planning, programming, and architectural design services for educational, medical and institutional clients since 1987, when the office was founded by principal Richard Grogan. The firm has an extensive background in complex renovation projects. Many of these projects have included accommodating specialized equipment for medical imaging, neuroscientific testing, and basic laboratory needs. A large number of our projects are renovations to existing institutional facilities. These renovations have required extensive field work to coordinate new construction with existing conditions. During the planning and design phase of projects, we focus strongly on the processes required for construction. These processes include project phasing, preordering of materials ( when possible ), and consideration of any special logistical needs of the client. The majority of our services have been provided to repeat clients including Duke University, Duke University Medical Center, VA Medical Center, North Carolina State University, and UNC Chapel Hill. We have a reputation with our clients for controlling and adhering to budgets and schedules. We have extensive experience working with local and state code officials. We routinely work with North Carolina Department of Insurance, North Carolina Division of Facility Services, and other state agencies which may be instrumental in early phases of the project, when concepts and issues are being defined. During the construction process we emphasize communication between the designer, contractor, and owner. Weekly progress meetings are normally held to review the schedule and monitor the progress of the construction.
